That's terrible news, I heard on the radio that there'd been an incident yesterday...horrible spot there.
Glad that you are still with us, sorry about the bike
All the best with your recovery and the follow-up with the investigations into the accident...lets hope the truck driver is held to account for his actions....and something to be done for that black spot area

Honestly a club I could have done with not joining. But I thank you for the sentiment. 8)

Seriously, I know how lucky I am. I am up and walking, with no head, spine or internal injuries. Other cyclists have not been so fortunate this week. Again I thank everyone for their well wishes, and I am determined to get back on my bike.

Not sure the gender really makes a difference, I wouldn't say that having a male nurse was unlucky...

Heal up quick, great to see you are STANDING for those pics. Great to see your recovery coming along quickly!

Once lucky man, get better soon.
Morningside is one serious Black spot for cyclists, every day through there is a gauntlet.
On a positive side my recent interactions with some Morningside Police have been positive, so I hope you are dealing with the same officers.
I'd certainly like to see some bicycle infrastructure through there, at present it simply disappears.

So sorry to hear about such a terrifying event. Hope your recovery exceeds the expectations of all concerned and you are back on the road with a new bike as soon as you are able.

Hope you heal well..

I had a collision with a vehicle not long ago but not a semi :S.. Was off the bike for 3 months and was a long recovery before I was back on the saddle.

Geeezzzus... Holy hit-and-run Batman.
Sorry to hear of your accident. Glad you're still with us.

Ps: If that's all the damage a semi can do to you, you my friend have a calling.
Stuntman, crash test dummy or bomb diffuser (no training required) come to mind, or pick from a raft of other dangerous activities.
You must be one tough mudda!!!

Best wishes for a full and speedy recovery.

Ouch. Those photos made me wince. :x Again, glad you're still with us.

The truck driver ... well my comments are unsuited for a family forum. I hope he gets some.

All things considered - very glad to see you're fast on your way back to rude health and you have a replacement ride in the works.

Sounds like a hell of an accident! Thats a pub story for years to come.. :D
