There seem to be a number of people who are not actually naughty but are getting IP address bans.
The strange thing... the system here is not showing these IPs as being banned so something is running amuck and I am trying to figure it out.
Please email me your member name... your IP address (http://www.whatismyip.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;) and I will try and sort it out.
Sorry for the inconvenience but this is a weird one.

Update:
I have changed a setting which means that IP addresses are no longer checked against IP address blacklists.... does this work?
I will contain feedback to this post.. and link to this post. I realise that it may not help if you get a banned message but with a bit of luck, the problem will now be solved.

Problem with DHCP by ISPs is that someone else eventually ends reusing a spammer's address.

We have these occasionally with the dynamic IPs however there has been a small spike in false positives and I finding it hard to get to the bottom of it.

Still playing up - some have reported getting access and then losing it again. A bit like my current internet access issues with telstra
There seems to be no pattern in IP addresses I have been given nor geographical location or device used.

possibly fixed... no ban reports today which is good.
I think I made have found the problem and it is one of those IT ones where you smack yourself in the head, though I think it may have accidently slipped in there.

If you happen to get "banned" from any websites...
Learn how to change your IP address,
it's not as hard as you think.
If you're not a tech wizard... don't worry!
And if your on a Mac, just youtube that too...

Youtube can help you solve your "problems" as well:)

Obviously we are talking about 'false positives' here. Genuine members who get banned accidently by spam prevention measures.
