I have only recently tried Audax riding. Cycle-commuting and touring are my usual bike activity haunts and jaunts.
This weekend past at the suggestion of a friend I participated in the Alpine Audax Classic...the 200 km sunrise over Mt Buffalo version.
It was a thoroughly enjoyable ride, and an even more enjoyable weekend. The organisers, volunteers, local businesses and the whole district did an outstanding job. The town was buzzing with bikes and people, cyclists and non-cyclists having a great time.
I'm now wondering why I have left it so long to discover this fun, challenging and exceptionally enjoyable ride event in Bright, and highly recommend it to anyone with even a slight interest in Audax riding, and country hospitality.
Alpine Audax... Bright...great event!

Amen, loved it! The thing about Audax rides is everyone can get involved. The fast guys trying to get a PR over 320km with 6200m of climbing, to the veterans enjoying the mountains and food, proving they can still pedal for hours. Great to see many smiles at the end, all with different stories, mostly of conquering their own challenge. The organisers did a great job. Unreal weather too

And the whole area around Bright is just awesome. And if you don't like hills, there is always the Rail Trail to get your cycling fix.
