I don't believe so but its not official until it's on the main M2 web page. They've kept the progress mostly secret until now as it is.

today, the new concrete was painted with bicycle signs.
now i understand why. it looks like it's going to be part of the detour ..

Yes. There's also a big hole in the concrete between the bus stop and driveways that I didn't notice, somehow my inner tube survived the pinch. I'm also hoping they will shorten the wait time at the pedestrian crossing opposite the community centre. At the moment it takes about 2-3 minutes to change...

I once timed the lights there at something stupid like 8 minutes, so I started looking for a different route that avoided the need to go via the WPH valley. Luckily I don't need the M2 beyond PHR, So I was able to find a route along the railway (Sutherland Rd), only using the official detour when it rained and the tunnel under the M2 floods.

Nice. My detour of choice (west bound) is going straight down to the end of North Rocks Road. It's busy, but I've been riding in the middle of the lane, and I do not recall any cars cutting me off. It's relatively flat, and if you're lucky with the lights it's very fast.

Then to Ray Road to link up with the official detour.

Haha what they're just holding us up. I'm guessing that the idea of such a long wait time is to bunch up people who want to cross the road so traffic is held up for less time, but I've only rarely come across another cyclist/pedestrian once or twice ever whilst waiting there.

We have concrete information that the end is nigh (and that the detour is pathetic yet again).

OMGosh! Not again... ruining one of my favourite routes, adding at least 15 minutes and forcing cyclists to take dangerous detour. Outrageous. Second worst thing after legislation changes.

Can anyone conform that cyclists can now ride the length of the M2 east and west? Google Map photos are inconsistent.

Sorry, my M2 search took me to a random spot in this thread, not the last post, so I posted the above before reading about the detour.

I was going to take my first ride on the M2 tomorrow but not now. The M2 section between Pennant Hills Road and Windsor Road is the most crucial as it bridges the 'inaccessible' Darling Mills Creek area and so using the M2 now seems pointless. I hate using Renown Road and North Rocks Road so I may as well go via Parramatta or Castle Hill to head west.

Changed my mind and rode the M2 from Delhi Road to Pennant Hills Road and went back home via Epping back streets. Surprised by how much debris is in the M2 breakdown/cycle lane. Quite 'crunchy' even for a mountain bike.

Ha. I actually had 2 punctures in 1 trip last Friday. I usually carry 2 spares, but now I'll have to carry 3 just to be sure.

Does anyone have a link as to what the M2 interchange will look like in detail?
Given the tunnels are ultimately 3 lane, how do they merge with the M2?
Will it be possible to cross from bike/breakdown lane across these intersections?
On occasions I have found it difficult to cross at the Pennant Hills offramp already.

Mention of underpasses being constructed for bikes to handle the crossing but no plans that I've been able to find.

I rode on the M2 in the same direction today. I thought a sweeper must've gone by recently 'cos it was 1 of the cleaner days

i find it's not the crunchy bits that hurt you but the unseen, tiny radial wires
