What makes you think it is Australian dollars? Massdrop is a US company and invoices in US dollars, well my payments have been all in US $.
The flag represents postage to Australia not currency. When they only ship to US for example it has a US flag.

Yup - that is correct. All my Massdrop purchases have been in USD.Aushiker wrote:The flag represents postage to Australia not currency.

An excellent looking option. The Grayl. It filters and purifies.
Not sure how to make the video link work but it's on their website. http://www.thegrayl.com/

A nice idea, but notice how hard it is to find out the actual water capacity.
Seems like they don't want to tell you that it only holds 473ml. - that's only a mugful, so fairly limited use for bike touring.

Use it twice? Seems logical to me.

Not logical to me - it's a ridiculously small amount of water. Even a bidon holds more. I can't see it being very useful for touring.

Exactly. Fill up bidon or even water bag. It's quick and easy.

Pass - the gravity systems we have been discussing in this thread filter 2 litres of water at a time with zero effort and are far more practical for touring.

How so?RonK wrote:Pass - the gravity systems we have been discussing in this thread filter 2 litres of water at a time with zero effort and are far more practical for touring.
How hard is it to fill up, press and then tip into a bottle or bag and repeat? Too easy

When I'm touring and camping, I use around four to six litres of water per day, but I could use double that in hot weather.
I doubt if my water consumption is much different from anybody else's.
With a two litre gravity system I can carry four litres of water if supplies en route are uncertain, or if it's hot. No additional containers required.
Few would find filtering water in such quantities a mugful at a time very convenient.
The proof will be in the number of members here who buy one to take touring. But I suspect you probably won't buy one and neither will anyone else.

If you don't mind pumping, the MSR TrailShot Pocket-Sized Water Filter might work for you. It is certainly quite small. Around $50 USD
