Seeing as it is legal to ride on the footpath in Tasmania(unless I'm mistaken) a lot of people dodge traffic lights by just taking the pedestrian crossing.
I have to admit to doing it on occasion, but only when there aren't a lot of pedestrians. Actually, some people do it so often that I often feel compelled not to wait.
I feel like it's fine as long as you aren't endangering anyone but I'm curious, what are you're thoughts on this?

Personally I won't do it except in unusual circumstances, like you can't set off the lights or soemthing.

Had to go through the same intersection again today. It doesn't seem to matter which bike, or where I stop, the lights just won't pick me up.
There are no visible marks on the road so you can't tell where any of the loops are. It's like I am a ghost lol

As far as I know you're allowed to ride on the footpath in Tassie except for in a couple of places in Hobart. I see no problem with crossing at the pedestrian crossings.

It's illegal in Tas to cross at a pedestrian crossing while riding. The law requires you to dismount, unless there's a bicycle crossing. There are rules on the website of Bike Tasmania
