ProBikeKit are Scammers!

Postby Jos99 » Fri Dec 28, 2018 6:47 am

DANGER! These guys are dishonest and scammers! I sent my faulty Garmin back to be fixed ... they lost it for a month, they couldn't even tell me what was going on for another 2 months and never got back to me. When I finally managed to escalate the complaint and get a refund, despite me telling them not to refund on the purchased card as it was cancelled, they claimed they had ... I showed that by their own time/date stamp, I notified them prior to the refund being issued they denied it and refused to process a refund to a valid account, then when I provide a bank letter stating there was no way the money came through and it would have bounced back to them and they would need to take it up with their bank they again refused to give me my rightful refund of over $300!! Never use probikekit!

For the benefit of other readers, this same message has been posted elsewhere and at the time of posting, this is the sole contribution to the forum... and in the wrong section. In context, this can mean that the person is frustrated and simply posting (copy & paste) everywhere but it could also mean there are other motivations.

My recommendation to resolve problems is to get on the phone rather than rely on emails. Although emails can be a good documentation, phone calls are faster.

FWIW, I've had multiple dealings with PBK (most recent being a few months ago) and have never had any issues.

If this poster is Australian he should raise with his state's Fair Trading. With Wiggle just being fined $12k for misleading consumers about statutory rights by the ACCC, this legal framework is now shown to have some bite.

I had Wiggle refuse warranty on a not-fit-for-purpose lightweight Easton EC90SL MTB handlebar that suffered deformation in the bar clamp area when installed exactly according to instructions at the specified torque numbers in 2016.

I have just in the last two days gone back to them on this matter, and wonders will never cease - they are refunding me, although they are trying to do so in the form of a store credit. If it must be used in a single transaction I will insist on arefund.
