Sunday 24th Feb, 2019. http://thatdamride.com.au/
There's four routes. The biggest is a hilly/challenging 125 km course.
The 70km also goes over lovely Mt Tully, while the 45 and 20km
courses are around the dam, and fairly flat.
[ Edit - Well, flat with a hill or two ]
Stanthorpe 220km from Brisbane, 2-1/2 to 3 hours drive. Or 1-1/2hours from Toowoomba.

I've done this ride a few times and it is fantastic! Brilliant course, very well-run event, and great excuse for a day or (even better!) weekend trip out to Stanthorpe.
Unfortunately have to miss it this year as its the same weekend as my daughter's 18th (and she's having a big party at home!). But if anyone is undecided - you should seriously go and do it.

I did this event in 2013 and would give it a big thumbs up. Weather and road conditions will be relaxed at this time of year. Start and finish at Storm king Lake is relaxed and plenty food and drink.stevenaaus wrote:Sunday 24th Feb, 2019. http://thatdamride.com.au/

Plenty of accom options not far away in Stanthorpe.
But I stayed at Somerville Valley Tourist Park which was very clean and economical. Well behaved pets allowed !
A great way to get away for a different weekend and do a cycling event. Check Strava for other local road and MTB routes.

Looks like it's been postponed due to the serious bushfires we've had, and forecast windy conditions.

This years' ride is on on Sunday (1st march) as part of the Apple and Grape festival. Weather forecast is great at this stage.

Have fun. I might think about going up there one year but not of Sunday.
