I am looking to go to a front camera as well.
Looking around, it seems that the alternatives are thin on the ground.
My replaced Fly6CE is working fine now and I am happy enough.
Dealing with Cycliq was painful though. Pushys were again extremely helpful.
I would by a Fly12CE through them because of that alone.

I was reading up on the Drift Ghost XL.biker jk wrote: ↑Tue Dec 24, 2019 5:11 pmI sold my Fly12 and bought Drift Ghost X which has been very good. There's now a Drift Ghost XL Full Power with claimed nine hours of battery life and is waterproof right out of the box (no special case is required).

Some of the reviews are far from positive!

The Drift Ghost X is highly rated and the XL uses the same processor so the complaints about picture quality see strange. I'm very happy with picture quality, no different to the Fly 12. Admittedly, battery life is not what is stated, so I get around four hours rather than claimed five. I have a proper mount so don't need image stabilsation.Arbuckle23 wrote: ↑Tue Dec 24, 2019 5:18 pmI was reading up on the Drift Ghost XL.biker jk wrote: ↑Tue Dec 24, 2019 5:11 pmI sold my Fly12 and bought Drift Ghost X which has been very good. Been watching more reviews, seems most of the complaints about the Ghost XL are regarding the external microphone connection, not the picture quality. Do you have photos of how you have mounted your X ? And any video samples?biker jk wrote: ↑Tue Dec 24, 2019 6:15 pmThe Drift Ghost X is highly rated and the XL uses the same processor so the complaints about picture quality see strange. jasonc.
I know what you you mean about too much stuff on your bike. But I do have a good 850 lumen front light that I like a lot.
The Drift Ghost XL tempts for battery life, could run it for an entire 100 km or so ride (even 200 km) and not worry about battery life.
But any input from others using the Fly12CE would be great.
How many hours using light on constant while filming, compared to how many hours on flash?
Any problems cropped up?
Got the chief of home finance on side, so looking to buy in any Boxing Day sales I can find a bargain on

I use a Garmin 1030 and would be keen to mount a Fly12CE (or something else ) underneath.
K-Edge reckon their XL combi mount can't handle the weight of a Fly12.
Is anyone using the K-Edge XL without it breaking?

Here are thoughts so far... This still feel a bit like an unpolished product.
I was dissapointed to see they've gone for a Velcro strap on a product like this but what the hey. I would have preferred a band. I also do not like the mounts at all. I'm not used to them but and when they lock, great, but the depth of the fit isn't good. Feel like I'm going to break them...
Found the app and firmware updates work okay but the startup sounds annoying (I know you can turn them off). Anyway, I noticed the Fly12 doesn't have an option to be renamed in the app. Might just be me but I still couldn't see it in the firmware update changelog.
I mounted it the 12 with a go pro double mount on the back of my garmin, however I wasn't happy with the amount of play in adjusting the mount. I ended up rounding the M5 bolt to try and get it tight and replaced it with another one. The unit seems pretty heavy to be held up by two screws but I'll check it after a little bit of riding. The issue isn't the garmin mount but rather the gopro interface.
Will post some footage up of the mount after some testing.
Lastly, anyone found a tempered glass/protector for the lens? I found a few from ebay based in germany and the UK. One rock and she's gawn.

I'm not a fan of how the screw is mounted at all, it's working against gravity.
I've just ordered this one to see how I go...
I've just installed the FLY12 using the supplied mount and IMO it's unacceptably bulk. This device should ship with garmin/headunit mount standard, there's no real other way IMO.

Yes
Never had an issue with the screws, they stayed in place without coming loose on 3 different mounts over 20,000km.
The one that did the most mileage 9,000km (then cracked), I had to flip the mount so the gopro mount was in the circular mount intended for the garmin and the garmin mount sitting on the flat section.
On the other hand I lost a couple of bolts from alloy garmin outfront mounts similar to what you are buying. Had a Garmin 510 and mount fly off my bars, another time during a race the garmin 510 started shaking, so I put the garmin in my pocket, but I finished the race without a mount.

Totally this. The Fly12 is bulky and it just makes sense to have them both together to a) not obscure the view, b), not conflict with cables. Not so easy...Arbuckle23 wrote: ↑Sat Dec 28, 2019 2:15 pmWould like to get the Fly12 centered and out front and clear of hoses/cablesfoo on patrol wrote: ↑Sat Dec 28, 2019 2:03 pmWhy wouldn't you use the mounts that come with the Fly? Thanks so much Nick. I had better luck today, remounted with as much torque as I could before rounding. Might have to add a dab of lotite. I am not comfortable with the mount yet still.

Thanks. A bit nervous about K-Edge saying the Fly12CE is too heavy for the XL mount on their website.AUbicycles wrote: ↑Sun Dec 29, 2019 12:18 amK-edge xl out front used for all generations. The cables do rub so you have to pock the right spot but havn’t had issues
Just waiting for Pushys to get stock back and I think I will buy. Given the rubbish warranty support I had with my Fly6 from Cycliq and the excellent support from Pushys as a consequence I prefer to buy through them.
