Yes.
Bibs are more comfortable.
Haven't worn plain knicks since my first bib shorts.
They stay in place better and no elastic around your waist.

Nothing worse than elastic around your stomach when you are bent over forward.
Elastic shorts are for mugs.
Bibshorts are where its at dude. Get with the program.

I'm not so black and white on the subject. I'll quite happily wear either.
But at this time of year bibs are much warmer.

Never buy white bib shorts.
Black are better

Another advantage is that, being tall and skinny, if I buy a jersey that fits me width-wise, but is a bit short in the torso, it doesn't matter so much when wearing bib shorts due to the extra lycra above the waistline. But it turns into a crop top if I wear normal bike shorts
I wear my longer jerseys with bike shorts, and my shorter jerseys with bib shorts. I also wear bibs on longer rides as they're my best quality padding.
I wear the regular bike shorts under normal shorts when mountain biking for extra comfort.

Personally, I had one pair, didn't like them, and went back to regular shorts. I find the extra fabric kept me hotter than I wanted to be. And basically, they were solving a problem I didn't have: I don't find anything uncomfortable about the elastic in regular knicks.
