MS Gong Ride 2022 (Postponed 2021) - New Date: 06/11/2022

The web form is asking for an access code, which is no where to be found in the pre-registration email.
Called the event team for help and left a message.
Looking at the registration link in the email, it contains a code in the URL parameter, possibly an unique code to prevent link shares. The registration page was very slow to load and I refreshed it many times, I guess the refreshes have marked the code used. If so, this is a very poor design, the code should only be invalidated after a successful registration, not by simply visiting the page.

It seems there were pre-VIP registrations if you have an access code.
They forgot to remove the validation this morning. Feels like a lesser VIP now.

This is my 8th participation.
I lost 20kg before the 2019 event, so it was a breeze riding through the Royal National Park. But I found the 20kg last year, so the hills won't be as kind this time around.

I did my first one at 14, which was 33 years ago...
I did two or three, then had quite a long break. I certainly did 2005 and almost every one since then, except 2008 definitely. I've lost count. I reckon this is number 20.

Wouldn't be surprised if situation improves after the winter they may open up more spots. But it's better to sign up now.

If no changes to health order restrictions, they will apply for exemption. So either way the prospect of more registrations if there, stay tuned.

March likely to be a busy month. I already have peaks falls creek and the postponed gears and beers festival. All my other events for 2021 have been cancelled due to Covid (after being postponed from last year due to Covid)

This year I did the Audax 24hr TTT the same weekend as the Bobbin Head Classic, and we rode through most of the Bobbo course on our way to the finish.
That event is usually on in March as well, and AusCycling just sent out an email for the Gravel Granite event in Tenterfield so say it’s moved to March as well.
So, there’s going to be lots of choice in March it seems!

It is also only 79km now. The finishing village has been moved north to Fairy Meadow. Brilliant. Not. Almost not long enough to be taken seriously as a landmark event.

Thanks for the information, no comms yet, but I can see that website has been updated.
It was Stuart Park before they moved to Lang Park, so the new venue is not too far off, but yes it's now under 80km.
May will be fresh in the morning.
