The bicycle is a curious vehicle. Its passenger is its engine.

Almost sounds like a ploy to sell e-bikes and such so the poor irregular commuters can get up Mount St.

Or on one of the many busses that won’t be affected. Or the car, on the four lanes of highway that also are unaffected. Given the width of the verge, alternates that don’t involve rerouting should have been used.HappyHumber wrote: ↑Tue Feb 21, 2023 10:45 pmAlmost sounds like a ploy to sell e-bikes and such so the poor irregular commuters can get up Mount St.
Piss poor planning, frankly.

They've got to be kidding, so many options and they chose this. And not a peep from Westcycle.
Time to start up a bike bus along the road (but that would likely be slower in peak hour traffic than riding on the path!)

Haha well it looks like the Como and Bayswater PSP detours need a lot of attention...

Went along this path this morning and got to work to find an email regarding the closure. As of this morning there were no works happening yet, but there were some high vis folks hanging around at the old brewery waiting for something to happen. Their high vis looked used, so I don't think they were Mindaroo managerial types....
Hopefully they put a sign re closure at the Crawley end once they actually start.

Signs are up at both ends for works starting tomorrow (27/03). There's heaps of paint marks on the section between the old brewery and the narrows, so I'm assuming that is going to be dug up and re-built, hence the detour as there's no verge there. Can't believe the suggested detour route is up Mount St!! haha.

When will it be opened? Because as a student I now have a holiday and I would like to go to that mountain, because I understand that it is very beautiful, besides that I hope to manage to do the writing with the help of https://studydriver.com/a-raisin-in-the-sun-essay/ because I really liked the idea of A Raisin in the Sun, it inspires me to do something new and even more to do writing for college.SnoopDoug wrote: ↑Thu Mar 23, 2023 3:47 pmWent along this path this morning and got to work to find an email regarding the closure. Apparently a goodly number are ditching the detour and taking the road, a colleague told me the other day that they'd seen signage go up saying "No Bikes On Road" or words to that effect ...
