PRESS RELEASE
2022 Sydney Classic Bicycle Show
5 Oct 2022
Celebrating Sydney’s 190-year heritage of cycling history with Penny Farthing racing, vintage bicycles and cars
The Sydney Classic Bicycle Show (estb 2013) is on again! It will be held on Sunday 30 October 2022 between 10am and 4pm at the Lidcombe Oval, Church Street, Lidcombe.
The bicycle has been in Sydney since March 1831, when a Sydney Monitor journo spotted one at Hyde Park, all those years ago. Today, whether you like new or old bicycles, you will love this fun event. If you have an old bike, a sentimental favourite or a classic one-of-a-kind bicycle, bring it along and show it off. We have an array of events to keep everyone happy. A Concourse/Show & Shine event and prizes for the best bikes in 19 categories. We will also have stalls selling vintage parts, bicycles and velo paraphenelia. This has consistently proved to be NSW’s largest and premier vintage cycle related event of the year.
It will also have NSW's biggest selection of vintage bicycle and parts stalls, music, food and drink.
This year’s show will also feature the 2022 Sydney Penny Farthing Championships with superfast riders ready to vie for the title of being Sydney’s best. Penny Farthing races haven’t sbeen held in Sydney since the early to mid-1890s.
In 2022 we expect:
• An estimated attendance of 1500 people on the day.
• Expect in excess of 60-70 vintage bicycles in the Concours/Show & Shine competition.
• Expect over 30 vintage bike parts stall sellers.

I get the tie-in, but won't that make it tough to get a lot of goods there unless there's some dedicated parking for stall holders or sellers? The place gets a bit mad on the day.

Yes, same thought occured to me re bringing bikes to display. Haven't been to Spring Cycle for ages cos it was always a pain for 'out of towners' to get to and leave. Might come down and look but doubt I'll bring any bikes with me.familyguy wrote: ↑Mon Jun 19, 2023 5:26 pmThis years SCBS has been notified as being on at Homebush at the end of the Spring Cycle.

Just went to the Spring Cycle website and find 'more details coming soon' It's only a couple of months away! Am I looking in the wrong place?

Well, there goes that. Cancellation of the Spring Cycle probably means this is not happening now. Organisers, can you shed any light here?

It was on BNSW Facebook this afternoon. Financial considerations, mostly.

And so it is - thank you. As someone who makes minimal use of Facebook (let alone all the other platforms) I missed that entirely.
Tho neither the BNSW Website nor the Spring Cycle Website (which is somewhat forlorn and abandoned anyway) have anything about a cancellation yet.

No reply to email. Hoping they're all busily trying to shift it, but probably another event gone (for now), which is a pity. RBCC at Heffron Park could be the only game in town.
