You can try Carbon Steed I have had great service from them for even minor jobs and they are priced pretty well. I had huge tyre cut coming down Mt Gravatt about 2 weeks after getting my LB wheels. Took a bit of carbon out of the rim edge. Carbon Steed did a resin repair and cost $50. I imagine they will be able to fill any low spots and buff it.

Thanks mate! I was actually looking at their website and wondering if they'd do a little job like this.blizzard wrote: ↑Fri Aug 04, 2023 8:09 amYou can try Carbon Steed I have had great service from them for even minor jobs and they are priced pretty well. Went back to the scene of the crime today - I can see why it happened. I'm actually surprised it hasn't happened to me before, it's almost invisible due to the leaf litter and shade.
Doesn't look at all new, so pretty shoddy maintenance there. Just working out how many channels I can report it through.

I'm betting if you get the right person in BCC they will come buy and patch it with a bit of bitumen fill. Clearly the slab has moved.Mr Purple wrote: ↑Fri Aug 04, 2023 10:42 amThanks mate! New wheels actually arrived yesterday, I'll post some pictures and weights this afternoon - they're crazy light!
Yeah, I think that road wheelset is also now on its last legs. Considering the considerably wider gravel wheelset using the same hubs is about 300g lighter. Now it's scratched, so I've got an excuse!

Got a call today from a BCC worker at the site approximately three hours after I reported it - he was pretty staggered at the size of the hole and that no-one had reported it before.
Unfortunately it's apparently a Mains Roads issue - so he's passed it to them urgently. He actually asked me to do the same and tell them I'd crashed to hurry it along, because it's a major safety issue.
Top work from BCC, that's pretty amazing service. Hopefully Mains Roads do the same.

The new DT350 is lighter than the older one by 70g (from memory). Maybe it's time to order new rims and have someone local lace them to your old hubs.Mr Purple wrote: ↑Fri Aug 04, 2023 12:02 pmNew wheels actually arrived yesterday, I'll post some pictures and weights this afternoon - they're crazy light!

Might do that and get these ones refinished at Carbon Steed after they arrive.

It's interesting that he came out when he knew he was only going to pass the buck.Mr Purple wrote: ↑Fri Aug 04, 2023 1:13 pmWell, SnapSendSolve to the rescue.

I wonder if you might be up for some compensation for damage?

Did a lap this afternoon and no closures or police presence. Given a fatality I would have thought there would be someone there.
Rest in peace rider.

Thanks bwdftp - it keeps me honest. Coming close to 1500 backs for all time. Should hit that in the next couple of weeks
