Hmmm, When I thought lost the Bolt one time, grabbed a v1 Roam, but then luckily found it it again. So I sold it.
It's actually a bit bulky for my taste - I liked the extra size, but not the "thickness" of it.
Pedal Mafia had the Bolt v2 at a good deal, so still tempted, but the bigger issue for me atm, is getting the MTB/Gravel/Commuting shoes sorted - so having a bit of analysis paralysis atm
EDIT : Just saw that PM have sold out of Bolt & Roam v2's ..... DOH !!!!

Funnily enough, the old Bolt v1 is still ticking along fine, but noticed the other day that the dead pixels on the LH side of the unit have fixed themselves, whilst the ones on the right are slightly worseMichaelB wrote: ↑Wed Jul 19, 2023 10:36 amStill using the Bolt v1, but noted this morning that the # of pixels dying is slowly increasing. Not an issue yet.
So per nicobec's recommendation, submitted a request on their customer support line, so standby to standby.

Interestingly, Bicycle Superstore is by far the cheapest for the Bolt v2 (head unit only at $339), with 99bikes at $399.
Lets see what Wahoo comes back with
Maybe the Lefties joined up with the righties !!
Still keeping an eye out for a special deal on a Bolt v2, and so far best is about $330.

Cheers, will keep an eye out !
There are others that are cheaper, and have found them not the best.
May give it a go though ?
Edit : Just checked, it's 5% they beat it by. Has some conditions though !

Bicycles Online & 99 bikes have a 5% price beat offer, but it seems to exclude any 'coupons'./
Bicycles online does definitely exclude it, but 9Bikes doesn't appear to, so will give them a go.
Dispatched the Roam v2 Price beat, so we'll see (fingers crossed)

the 10% off PM introductory code doesn't work for 'sales'.
However, 99Bikes did do the 5% price beat, so that made the Roam v2.0 a total of $426 shipped.
Since that worked, and I'd be happy with the Bolt v2, will do the same thing with 99Bikes (and don't even have to join !!).
Standby to standby

1st world problem.
The Bolt is fine, but now that I'm back to gravelling more, the bigger screen may be a bit better with routing ....

A few more years yet for me. But likely to have the option to go 4 day weeks after house is done and sorted.Arbuckle23 wrote: ↑Wed Nov 15, 2023 9:35 am
13 months for me I think. Just got to find a replacement. Given the boss plenty of notice!

When I mentioned they are based in Perth, they then replied they could honour the price beat, but wanted to do it an odd way round. We can not process a price match for this as this is a US-based company that has their products from the US which does not include freight on their item price as well.
Actually, would rather go through PM, as they are the ones challenging the others !

My thoughts too. Yep edge 1030+ here. Very handy for mapping when out in the gravel. Also great for fitting more data fields on the screen.
Definitely couldn't go smaller again.

About 8 or 9 for me. LSL at half pay here. More leave so more time away from work and breaking it up into smaller bite sized chunks is my strategy.MichaelB wrote: ↑Wed Nov 15, 2023 9:37 amA few more years yet for me. I took advantage of the 99Bikes price match and bought a Roam v2 and even got express shipping for free
Have been looking at some of the recent software upgrades on the GPLama youtube, and they'll be handy in some areas, especially as I'm planning to get back offroad more.
Phew, now to do more riding .....

Some good deals on big screen (non-Garmin) options right now.
Hammerhead Karoo 2 - 3.2", screen resolution about 4x a 1040 from memory, so very clear/crisp. I have had one for 5 months and love it. Normally sells for $640.
https://www.pedalmafia.cc/products/hammerhead-karoo-2 - $399
Bryton s800 - 3.4" screen. Normally sells for $650.
https://www.pushys.com.au/bryton-rider- ... puter.html - $422 - may have just gone out of stock, they had stock yesterday.
