Not too bad. Would have expected longer - I guess hence "Allegedly"!

Should have pushed a bit harder - knocked into the third fastest time of the day by Ben O'Connor.
Mind you bwdftp still got him by seven seconds!

No shame in being pipped by Ben O’Connor.. I just passed him on the Kedron brook bike path.. he waved to me, but I was too slow in waving back.. gutted!!!

They have those mobile traffic lights set up. Which is really great when you're on a solid effort as I was today and get a red light.
Though to be honest I also used that as an excuse to back off from there. 8:22 with a brief pause for a red light isn't too bad!

Does this work as an excuse? 'I was going too fast to see the speed limit sign, officer'.
I'm pretty sure that sign's been there for ages, as long as I can remember anyway. No issue with them enforcing speed limits, but I would at least like to see an equivalent approach to speeding drivers. I pretty regularly get passed by some idiot in a car or on a motorbike doing 80km/hr+ uphill or over the top.

5:59/495W with a VAM just under 2000. Holey moley.
Same guy also took the Cootha Front KOM last year - must have missed that one. 4:49/464W.

Incredible stuff. Guy looks to be a 20yo rider for CCache x Par Kup. 64kg, 180cm. That's some impressive W/kg. 7.73W/kg for 6 minutes. Jeebus.

Some of the pros conceal their watts, presumably so the competition doesn't know what to aim for. This is the case here as there's no estimated Strava watts for the whole ride. He states the power in the comments on the ride.
The watts for the front are shown and genuine. Bike calculator for a 64kg rider on a 7kg bike says about 480W required for a six flat, so 490-495W is probably about right.
Given by the comments and the fact he has a pro record, I'm pretty sure this is not a situation like a few years back when that moron on an e-bike beat the KOM five laps in a row!

I've notice that as well. It's funny seeing these names so regularly you assume they're the standard MAMIL like us, and then realise they're all 20.
Good to see so many top young riders though. When I was that age I was running competitively and used to win everything in my age group, simply because I was the only one in my age group.

In this case it was simply mainly dirt - so gravel climb up the Mahogany Trail (parallels 'Cootha Front') then on the road as far as channel 9. I wasn't particularly aiming for it, but some dude took offence to getting passed by the mud spattered guy on the gravel bike passing him uphill on the road and it became the world's slowest uphill drag race for a few kilometres. I did get him in the end but I felt like I should offer to race him again on a bike that doesn't weigh 10kg and run 42mm tyres.
Now I'm also fourth on 'Dirty Front' and in the top 10 on 10 other segments so might have to give that a tilt when the track dries out a bit. Going by the other names on that list any glory there will surely last less than a week.
