Hi all,
New to the the forum. With an interesting project.
I have an old Chinese style cargo trike. I will be modifying it for a theatre show. It will do a few tricks and things.
Aesthetically it is perfect. Mechanically it is horrible. Fixed rear axle, sorta friction strap hand pull brake, terrible drive system. It moves and handles like an old big boat.
It needs to move smoothly, turn as nimbly as possIble, and stop as well as possible.
I’m researching differential hubs and gears but I’d be curious if anyone has some ideas. Particularly if I can avoid settling for junk parts from Ali Express.
I have been wrenching on bikes for years. Can manage simple welding projects. Have decent tools.

Thanks!

Samagaga is the only game in town for a true differential. It's a good product.Redboy wrote: ↑Sat Jul 20, 2024 11:35 amHi all,

As far as brakes go I reckon I cab fit some disks or something. But maybe i’ll sort the hub first.

you could try MR Recumbents in Melbourne ( https://mrrecumbenttrikes.com/ ) who got the spares when Greenspeed was sold off. The Anura delta trike had a diff. He might have Anura bits.

Great project updating that cargo trike! Samagaga diff hubs are the best option. Discs would be a solid upgrade for brakes and work well with the new hub. MR Recumbents is also worth contacting—they may have some Anura spare parts, like a differential section, that could help.
