Researching my Grandma’s 1930s Malvern Star

Postby annon227 » Mon Oct 07, 2024 11:46 pm

My 97yo grandma has told me the story of receiving her 1935/36 Malvern star for her birthday and I’m trying to find photos of it in its original colours. My grandfather had it repainted in what he thought was a thoughtful gesture some 20 years ago. So it’s now all blue. But she remembers it as mostly red, with white wheel guards and possibly some emerald green accents?
The serial number is P9333

Can anyone shed some light on the original design? Have copies of any advertisements from that time? She said she first saw an advert for it in the Broadcaster which I’m currently sourcing from the state library but I don’t imagine it will have colour advertising.
