I’ve had all sorts of problems with both the Garmin and Wahoo chest ones. Will be good to hear how the arm option fares.

I'm a sweaty bugger, so wash my strap each ride, which naturally contributes to the reduced life.

I've never had an issue with the sensor on my Tickr v1, but the v2 was pretty average.

Hopefully having the arm one will reduce strap usage (with less washing).

It is usually the elastic strap that causes the problem. though I would check for sweat ingress via battery door on the Tickr (an issue I had with my Tickr and early Garmin)

give the strap a good wash

if you have been washing it regularly and I do, I find the life expectancy of the elastic strap is about 12 to 18 months with me (I do sweat heavily and ride 10 hours a week). Buy a replacement strap, the standard garmin style replacement off AliExpress/Ebay/Amazon ($7 or so on AliExpress) will do the job. I have used various coloured ones on both a garmin and tickr HR

Replacement for the whole thing. Recommend a XOSS X2 Pro. It has a sealed rechargeable battery. Lasts well over 50 hours om single charge (I just charge it every month). Main reason no sweat ingress. Pair like a garmin or tickr and they just work. Under $40 0n AliExpress.

I've had the XOSS for 6 months or so, it's been excellent!
