Id rather be commuting in this heavy rain than being off work with a crook back. Getting old sucks.

rode my checkpoint with my new gravel wheels this morning. apart from the gears needing a bit of a tweak it feels smoother and a little bit faster
geez it was already warm (37 top temp today in brissy). apparent temp was already 30 at 6:30am

Back at work started commuting last week, 11kms both ways so far made it 7 days in a row.

Nice route along Lower Dandenong Creek Trial https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dandenong_Creek_Trail so bike path majority of the way.

Goal this year to commute at least 4 days a week and remove car, started on my E Bike but will move to hybrid when back up to speed and legs and backside back into it

Heres the commuter

The garmin temp got up to 43 degrees on the commute home. At least no head wind this time

Agree with this - haven't had many sick days in the last 7 or 8 years

Ouch.

Errands to run tomorrow, Thursday. Hopefully the weather is kinder for cying on Friday.

Only my 3rd commute of the year as ive been WFH more often. Temperature was nice this morning but the headwind was terrible. Had a bloke on my back wheel pretty much the whole way in drafting me, wouldve been nice if he said thanks when i turned off.

Managed to commute every day since 14th January with exception 1 day when had a rheumatoid arthritis fair up in the which stopped me riding home so a minor achievement

After 3 weeks I'm noticing it getting a little easier not using the sport mode and more eco mode on the bike so body slowly adapting, wallet feels better I don't think I've taken car out for a couple weeks.

My route is great 2 roads to cross and then 9 km of flat bike path alternating between path and Gravel

One think though noting my hands get pins and needles sometimes and being susceptible to RA flare ups I don't want to aggravate it through over usage injuries and Im particularly vulnerable in my wrists and Elbows so trying to nurse them along

I've ordered some ergon ergonomic grips https://www.ergonbike.com/en/product-de ... g&a=griffe so hope they will help as a start. Does anybody have any experience with these with respect this problem particular and what did you do about it.

Also considering a supension post such as the following

https://www.amazon.com.au/Gaderth-Suspe ... rce=1&th=1

Any experience else anyone recommend any. Lastly would changing to carbon bars from Aluminum help with vibrations

Current Cockpit Image

Thanks

riding home yesterday afternoon I ran over something and sealant started spraying it in large amounts. Thankfully it sealed. I topped up the sealant when I got home. Seemed good this morning

Caught the elusive green wave in today - 5km 5 sets of lights, all green. Of course that all stopped on King St where the lights are synced to give cyclists a series of reds

4th commute this week which has been nice (wife had the week off for first week of school for the kids which allows me to go into the office). Commutes in the morning have been into a decent headwind and afternoons have been on the warm side.
