Was that with DHL? I ordered on the 6/5, processed on the 8/5, still no delivery. I bet I'm getting a free electrolyte "gift" and my package will be featured on next week's episode of border patrol.

My last item I got from wiggle was a backorder. It was despatched 10/5 and I got it today 19/5. There were no suprises in the parcel.

Just got the latest email from wiggle saying my order has been processed and is ready for despatch. It appears Wiggle is now using DHL as I have gotten a DHL tracking number. Lets see if they are as fast as parcelforce.

Amazing speed last week. Ordered Monday night, received order Thursday morning of the same week.

They used DHL that time. It was cheaper than Royal Mail for those items too. To compare speed, I ordered from Wiggle the same day and I'm still waiting a week later.

In Germany, the biggest is Zalando. Don't know how they are for international shipping.

They seem to accept orders only if you have German or Austrian address.

A big plug for Wiggle for their speed, quality and price. Oh, and the fact that they continually update you on you parcels whereabouts.


EVANS CYCLES

Evans Cycles are good but a little slower in regard to delivery. They also fluctuate in price from when you place an order to when your CC has been charged. This of course is minimal and it potentially could be in you favour. Evans have been exceptional responding to emails in relation to a recent order mishap and have resolved my concern speedily.


So a big thumbs up for Wiggle and Evans Cycles from me.

Thought it was time I posted my recent bike upgrade experience.
It was half online so thought I should post it here.

Decided to upgrade from my hybrid to a road bike, so after doing online research I had to decide whether to drive to Brisbane for a Avanti or Toowoomba for a Cannondale.

Chose Toowoomba because the roads quieter and it's a little bit closer than Bris,

I had been emailing the owner I presume at a well known branded named bike store in Toowoomba. We had agreed on a price etc. And aranged to go down to check it out and probably buy it.

Got to the store told the sales guy that I had been emailing Fred jones ( not his name) and had come down to look at the bike.

He tottered off and spoke to the person in question and came back and took me over to where the bike was.

First thing I thought was, that it was a bit rude this person did not bother to come out and serve me or just say hi.

Anyway, checked the bike out, it had on some plastic pedals, so once again had to play pass the message as it had been arranged to include some clip less pedals.

So agreed to buy the bike, went over to pay for it, and behind the counter this person says something about the hills around where I am, no introduction etc, but I presume it was the person I had been emailing.

Paid for the bike, there was no mention of servicing etc, and to top it off, while I was finishing up a female walked into the shop and this person couldn't get out from behind the counter quick enough.

So all in all, a not so wonderful shopping experience and one shop I won't be visiting again not even for the first FREE service that I am suppose to receive but nobody cared to mention it.

As for the bike, I wanted one with the new 105 gearing as I had read that there pretty good. But so far I am not finding that. Constantly have to double tap to get it to change etc and there is a lot of chain rattle etc.

I am hoping that as it came from a crappy shop they have doneva crappy job tuning it up if it was done at all.

Will be taking it to a local bike mechanic that has opened up a shop in Kingaroy to see if he is any good and get it tuned up and serviced. Besides that loving the change from the hybrid to the roadie.

Have those who have purchased through the likes of Wiggle found it better to use credit card or Paypal in terms of the exchange rate you receive? I have previously used credit card but have a Paypal account also and didn't think to check the rate compared with what Wiggle quoted in AUD for my basket (it maybe an estimation for the basket as well).

Edit: I plugged into Paypal their current exchange for GBP and I got .6333 vs the difference between Wiggle's GBP and AUD price in my basket and I got .6060. So if my credit card can do better than an exchange rate of .6333 then I guess it is better (incl transaction fees). Still keen to hear if anyone else has done the maths and what did you find.

I noticed that when comparing the various stores sometime it is better to set them all to pounds because they don't necessary have the same exchange rates. In terms of payment I normally get it billed in pounds because with my credit card (CBA) anyway there is no point converting to AUD or getting billed in AUD because the bank will get its 2/3% fee because the merchant is based overseas. Also the exchange rate at paypal or the store is slightly less than when my credit card gets billed.

Can I just say I've had two orders from JensonUSA arrive within five days. Not five working days - five calendar days. You order and it's dispatched same US working day. I've bought a heap of GU gels and they have come in at $30 AUD a box. That's $1.3 or less and they are $3-4 in the shops here. Very very happy with them.

You are right.. this was a shared order!

However I will use 1 or two on longer rides, which for me happen 2 or three times a week. Also, on a 100k one where I'm trying to push the pace I could have 1 every half hour. I'll be taking 6 or 7 with me for the MS charity ride in a couple of weeks. I reckon I'll burn probably 1 box a month. And at that price they are way cheaper than energy bars etc - and far far easier to consume on the road.

+1 for Chain Reaction Cycles

Ordered SKS Chromoplastic mudguards & 2 Schwable Marathon plus tyres, all for less than cost of the tyres in Oz, including shipping. Ordered 25 May, arrived 6 June which is pretty impressive since I only paid for Royal Mail ($15.50) but it seems they sent it parcel force ($38.70) anyway. Don't know if that is common, but I am happy.
