Amys Ride anyone?
Postby mrgolf » Sat Mar 02, 2013 8:59 pm
Anyone doing Amy's ride tomorrow? I am up for the 110km ride on my single speed. If you see me struggling up Pierces Creek, say hi or offer a tow or something. Bike is instantly identifiable as the prettiest bike on the circuit.... oh, and it has a belt drive, too. Should be a good challenge.

Second prettiest bike.
I'll have the prettiest.
See you out there. Hopefully the wind and rain stay away.

Thats not what the ladeez say. You can offer your apologies for being wrong tomorrow on the road.
See you there. Yeah, anticipating chill. If its too windy, I will just take my roadie.

Yep, in for the 110km.
Weather should be pretty reasonable given last week.
Hopefully the wind will not be too much of a nuisance...

Can't say that their advertising for the event was any good. I only found out about this when I went to the LBS yesterday for a new spoke and seen the poster sitting on the counter.

Do you have a TV? I could have sworn it was on TV a couple of times. Also, sounds like you need to visit your LBS more frequently...FXST01 wrote:Can't say that their advertising for the event was any good. Great ride. The new long course worked great. Single speed worked marvellously. Averaged 31.5 today, which is a few kmh down on having gears, but there was a fairly consistent headwind. Legs feel nice an toasty now. Pierces Creek was a BIG challenge with 65 gear inches. Survived and was fine for the rest.
Also, didnt see a prettier bike out there. Sorry Skull. Perhaps a subjective second...

You must not have seen me then.
Also yeah advertising was quite adequate. Since I had been registered since they opened in Jan.

So you're saying you averaged 31.5 kph over 110km, including through the Brindabellas, against a headwind, on a light blue single-speed with a belt drive?
Awesome. I'm going to have to try some of that light blue paint.

Pics are up. Pity about the devil girls. A couple of good shots of the prettiest bike on the ride.
