20km each way, 5 days a week.
If I want some extra km's then the long way I take is 70km to work, and then the typical 20km home.

I think I have the shortest commute, but only when my wife lets me ride from the bedroom to the back room ... She hates the skid marks I leave on the tiles in the kitchen!munga wrote:scroll up a few posts...philip wrote:Looks like I win for the shortest commute

Yeah I seem to get an extra 3km/h on the way home to Joondalup...going in seems tougher. Maybe there is also more uphill going in?gdl_gdl wrote: I live in the Northern suburbs of Perth so you are nearly always guaranteed a tail wind for the homebound trip.

That's the next one up isn't it? I might see you tomorrow, I'll be hitting Shenton at about 6:30am.gdl_gdl wrote:Do you join the cycle path at Shenton Ave?
No, I travel from Mindarie so I head down Neerabup Rd, then Connolly Drive and pick up the freeway path at Burns Beach Rd.

I might pass you heading the other way. Hoping to get a bit of a ride in too the north and back and round to the coast, then south and then back north again tomorrow.20thCB wrote:That's the next one up isn't it? I might see you tomorrow, I'll be hitting Shenton at about 6:30am.

Did I see you this morning about 6:45am fixing a puncture before Greenwood? Red top with black t-shirt underneath?gdl_gdl wrote:That's the next one up isn't it? I might see you tomorrow, I'll be hitting Shenton at about 6:30am.
I'm guessing that I hit Shenton at around that time. I leave Mindarie at just after 6am (depending on the kids) and it takes about 30 minutes to hit Bunnings nr Edgewater Station. If you see me then give me a shout - I have a red sleeveless top on and a Trek road bike.
Cheers,
Gary

Cool, now I know who/what to look for.gdl_gdl wrote:Did I pass you? Where you wearing a white helmet, red sleeveless jersey and on a red bike? If it was you, you where about to blow off a girl on a hybrid going down a hill whilst I was climbing it.
Guilty as charged! Sounds like it was me!
I was trying to remember the intersection to the north, when I did the post. It is where the path goes down and then back up again and then I think down to the railway station where there is that ped bridge straight on to the bike path. Does that make sense?Where was this Andrew? I always keep an eye out for you (I only recognise the green CA shirt though!)
Look forward to the story.I did stack it last night though and I'm off the road for tomorrow. Nothing major but I've got bruising down my left arm and side. I'll post the story later tonight now that I've had the p*ss taken out of me at work all day today!

It would be Warwick as it was the west side of the freeway.gdl_gdl wrote:I was trying to remember the intersection to the north, when I did the post. Could have been near Warwick Station as the ped bridge goes straight onto the path. Or maybe Greenwood?
