I thought you were well and truly infected with the track bug. Keirins are on tonight. Div 1 gets to wear the fancy vests and helmet covers.

I found the fat mans quite a race last year, a bit disappointed I can't get there this year. Looking like I may not get out at all this year owing to work, family and football (in that order). I'll try to get to at least one!

I was way off form tonight in a really bad way. Legs were good but I was coughing like something terrible. No idea what was happening there. But it was nice to get back, even if briefly.
Freezing tonight as well.
Onwards to next week!

Explain these races
Explain these races
1.5 lap Screamers - -– Riders draw lots to start in position 1-5 up the track. The riders start in a Time trial hold (No-Push) for whistle start on the pursuiters line in back straight. First one to complete 1 1/2 wins. Easy.
Poker Race- ran on the same rules as the Point'a'Lap race however, instead of earning points you earn cards. On the first lap the first rider across the line wins a card, on any additional point won you receive an extra card. The winner of the race is the rider who has the highest ranked card Ace Hearts being the highest and 2 of Spades the lowest. Don't worry you don't have to carry the cards with you, we keep them on the desk.

That was confusing as all hell to watch!
Maybe because I couldn't see the whole track, at the start but it was a good finish.

It was a great race, and yes you had to watch the whole track, or at least be able to follow the commentary for the good bits.

Hey BFV
it was weird not to have you at RAW tonight. But did you have to sneak in and set off the fire alarm, to stop others from riding?

So even the velodrome cried that the BFV was ill! I'm a legend. Should be back next week at the back of Div 4, as usual.

Scratch, wheelrace (for qualifiers), win and out, madi-lead for div 5-2 or madison for div 1.

Naughty children set off the fire alarm - or so it would seem. Naughty other people parked on the grass.
I've only finished 3 races this year! Two of them were 1.5 or 2 lap screamers and I placed in both. Next year I might relegate myself back down to Div with the kids and transiting triathletes.

Instead of dropping down, Eleri, you're better off asking why that has happened and do something about it.
Pain is good!

Pretty sure I know the answer to that Foo!
Actually there's several - only some of which could be fixed:
Gender - possible to reverse, not interested
Ageing - stuck with that one
Job - kind of huge and gets in the way of training. I could give it up but then I wouldn't have any money to spend on bikes.
Club job - also kind of time consuming.
Training - if it doesn't happen before 8am, it's hard to find time, see point 3 and track is in the evenings.
I'm an endurance roadie - points 1 and 2 and a lifetime of slow twitch sports suggest that's probably where I should concentrate.
Div 5 was more fun, but also felt more dangerous it must be said.

Get rid of the negative thoughts Eleri.
Train smart and you will surprise yourself.

Yes Eleri, HTFU. Nothing wrong with getting dropped from Div 4 after coming up from Div 5. You'll get better at it. If it weren't for the short sprints, I would have the same finish record as you. I think I've only completed a couple of longer races this year, but I'm treating them as practice sessions for the sprints, which I've done OK with this season. Next year you'll come back and do much better, you know you will. Again, HTFU.
