I was thinking about going over the Bennelong Bridge, the bus/bike/ped bridge between Rhodes and Wentworth Point.
Looking at Street view the path Just Stops. If you keep going you are the wrong way on a narrow one way street... Are you supposed to cross the busway once you are over the water to get on the left side? Then do a right on Hill and an immediate left to the bike path?
You need to cross 3-4 lanes of traffic on Hill St if you went straight. Can get busy at times.

Personal preference is to do a sharp right at the end of the shared path (becareful, it's a blind corner) to Wentworth Place.
Go pass the school and use the pedestrian crossing to get to the wharf and cycle path.

Where's the ped crossing? I take it you get onto Wentworth, turn left at the roundabout onto Burroway, then what? The only ped crossing doesn't seem to get you anywhere.

It appears you're overthinking it zebee - Wentworth Point is a dead end & apart from Hill Rd, the streets are quiet, at least at the various times I've been there. Personally I just go straight down Footbridge Rd & right at Hill Rd, job done.

What Caneye is suggesting is a zig zag - 1st right (Wentworth Pl) 1st left (Burroway Rd) 1st right (Ferry Wharf Cr, but google maps calls the end of Hill Rd), go past the school & hill road turns left,

You will see the shared path starts at the school, but there's no way to get to it from the road - continue on to the pedestrian crossing which you can see in the distance of the pic below to cross onto the shared path, easier than jumping the gutter at this point.

That's the way I go as well when crossing the bridge from east to west. I must confess to riding on the bus-only lane most of the time because riding on the bridge footpath is like riding through a herd of drunk sheep.

I never use the bus lane - I've seen Police near there before and it probably doesn't help our image if we are seen riding in places where we are not supposed to be. Especially when there are no entry signs and T-Way 24 hours signs.

We just have to go slowly on the path among the walkers. And then they get upset because we are riding bikes on the shared path. And if you keep them happy by riding on roads elsewhere, you end hit by a car and dead... So you are damned if you do and if you don't.

I think I probably go around that area once in a year so nobody can point fingers at me for going too fast among the pedestrians or for riding across that bridge on the road lanes.

Why don't they make the bus lane legal for cyclists to use? The one time I've crossed it there was way to many pedestrians to safely cycle on it.

When they built it, bicycles were about box ticking not transport.

The bus drivers don't want to share with bikes because they don't want to have to cope with idiots or slow riders. Can't guarantee the only cyclists on the bus lane would be the fast competent ones. (Bet there'd be at least one ped a month too...)

And the bridge is used by one bus in each direction every 20 minutes. If I see a bus approaching when I'm near the bridge I use the path, but otherwise it is the least used vehicle bridge in Sydney.
