Does anyone have recommendations for simple posting from an iPhone now that tapatalk is not an option.

I'm looking at various apps and none seem to provide the correct link (imgur, smugmug both don't)

I can't seem to log into my flickr account via the app at the moment which is also frustrating.

The only app I can find with the correct link for the boards is photo bucket which is a slow advertising mess

following a recommendation from another post the best solution for iPhone users seems to be Imgur's mobile site as it gives the Image

This is a photo taken and edited on my phone to see how it displays. Not sure how big it is. There is no option in imgur I can see to select size

Cool, seems like a workable solution. Hopefully it's only temporary until image hosting is integrated.

So the good news is the site CSS scales large images nicely; the downside is that the full image is still loaded which impacts page load times and data usage on mobile, especially in threads with a lot of large images. Not much can be done about that when images are hosted elsewhere.

Another image hosting site I've used gave the option to automatically scale large images and spit out formatted BBCode for a smaller preview linked to the full size image - but I can't remember what the site was.

With mobile phone images so big nowadays that's a bit of a problem. Tapatalk was really really good for that.

Why not allow direct pasting of images from computer (or i-device) hard drives. Why the need for a third party platform at all?

There is a more detailed explanation from Christopher about this in the forum upgrade thread, but essentially its to do with hosting. TL;DR version is currently it isn't a feasible option for BNA to host the images, that may change in the near future.

Will google photos work as the source? Any privacy issues (for me) to be concerned about? I read previous in this post that imgur is better than photobucket now, would imgur be better than google photos? thx

Google is certainly an issue if you don't own images or have permission to share.

In the first post, I have put instructions which should help - at this stage the direct upload is not yet supported however this is the plan.

Cheers

The website of http://anony.ws/ is no longer available.

I did posted some pics from them to this site and those pics are gone.

I will try to post some pics in future from other hosting service to see if it`s good or not.

https://anonmgur.com/

edit 11/12/17, this link is no longer in use, please disregard this link as it won`t work.

Thanks for the report - I have removed the anony.ws one from the list of suggestions. Let me know how the anonmgur goes - if it is go we can put it on the suggested list.

I posted 3 images from them but one pic cannot be clicked on from Parramatta River thread. Because I linked it to only "BBCode" So if clicked to see enlarged pic, then use the "Linked BBCode". When clicked on pic, it revert back to hosted site and clicked on that pic to see the enlarged version.

I don`t know if it is an annoyance.

ps, done from laptop, not from mobile phone.

edit 11/12/17, It is a shame that this photo hosting site is no longer available and it had shut down after 6 years of service due to low life who ruined it .

Due to Photobucket not uploading to 3rd party unless you pay $399 to upload pics.

Alternative 3rd party hosting service http://wetakepic.com/ don`t need an account to upload or you can create an account.

Checking for BBCode thumbnail linked,
Image
BBCode medium linked,
Image
BBCode embeded,

I had to check the preview before being submitted. Is that good or not?

^^^ Had a look in scamadviser web for info and it stated that it's a high risk to purchase items but it is not selling items as it only host pictures. Then I' d think it's better in not to create an account with them.

Info in https://www.scamadviser.com/check-website/wetakepic.com

Since Photobucket has kicked the bucket I'm not having much joy with images of late.
Tried IMGUR, GooglePhoto, Flickr, Dropbox. I'm at the point of giving up for a while....
I've created accounts on all of them as well which I really didn't want to do (I like a very small digital footprint). Not happy.

Has any of these image storage providers have direct linking like Photobucket (which was ok). I can't get them to work even with the img tags.

Maybe someone can tell me what I'm doing wrong here...

viewtopic.php?f=25&t=95307

You know what would be really nice. If the forum could detect a link is an image and insert the img tags around it automatically a bit like the threads and url's do.

Why not try the https://postimages.org as I do it to post pics here?

No need to insert img or url tags, just only copy the use
" Hotlinks for forums " and paste it in here.
PS, do not change the "no expiration" box.

If all you want to do is shoot a bikeish image into the ether without "owning" it, don't want logins or accounts then THIS is the host you're dreaming of

Faith restored. Thanks Bungy worked like a charm.

Also thx Shaun but looks like that has a 1mb max per img and I think my camera phone must be 1.1mb or just over. I know I could resize but Im never going to do that every time. So pretty happy with postimages.org.
Cheers gents.

^^ No probs,Rod.
But as stated in other thread, can't upload new pics from phone but only on PC.

Only can upload it from phone if already stored in your account.

Are you sure? I uploaded from phone straight from my phone's photo Gallery without even creating an account - just to their (what I assume is their) public place and linked it with the hotlinks back to BNA. Worked really well for me.

I haven't got to creating an account there as yet. I'm waiting to see how long the photos last in that public place (surely they would have to clean them off after a week or month if its not attached to any user account?).

Edit: Actually I see what you mean now. I created a login and can only upload pics to "my area" via a PC rather than a Phone. I can still upload to the Choose images " public space" by the looks and it has a little number down the bottom of the screen so I assume it knows its me that has downloaded it. But yeah can't seem to use the upload button at all from the phone unlike the PC which I can.

What is a good external website for me to upload photos of my bicycle to? I am looking to upload photos but not sure what website to use as a link for this one.
Any recommendations?
Cheers.
