I've managed to "roll" an (underinflated) clincher on a slow corner - my own stupid fault - dumped me on the ground but was reseated (if it actually came off) by the time I got up.

Perhaps not apples for apples.

Having trawled the 'net for a few years, tubular gluing angst appears to be a purely American thing. The rest of the world doesn't have a problem

I Almost died some years ago.
I was sprinting to the finish line with some others... The last thing i remember was thinking that i was wining and the finish line was just 50mts ahead.
An then I woke up in the hospital...

Guess what!

( My mechanic serviced my wheel and glued the tyre one week before)
The front tyre unglued of the rim and stuck in the caliper at 60kmph.. Can you imagine?
It was like activating the front break strongly ..
I was catapulted to the ground with the head, as i was sprinting...

My helmet broke in 2 parts.
Concussion
Edema
Broken collarbone
3 broken ribs

No probs.
Sorry to hear about your crash.

But what is your point?

Tubulars don’t just “come off” even when flat (as anyone who’s installed one knows). Now, buckle a wheel the right way and no tyre will stay on.

The only time that I have rolled a tub, was in a sprint in a scratch race on the track when someone fell in front of me and I bunny hopped him and landed with my front wheel not straight. It would have been close to 60Kmh at the time.

I use glue for the Track and tape for the Road.

Personally, I'm quite happy for the mods to re-inter this well-dead thread by deleting that on eand all the subsequent posts.

A new policy direction?
