379KMs for November, and 4,300 so far for the year. I will miss my 5,000KM target this year. Such is life. Hoping to get out tomorrow if my balance improves, it has been a mess for a couple of days :(

3744km and hoping to hit 4200 for year.
2 months overseas, a couple of episodes of cold or flu, injured back and a few episodes of afib probably was another month or so off the bike. Plus added in some running. So pretty happy with that.
The main thing I am struggling with is doing any rides over 50km. Just don't have enthusiasm to try. Not that it matters, still doing more than enough for a healthy level of fitness.

Cracked 4000na month earlier than last year, would have been better had the winter malaise not affected the group. Very little riding in November, the malaise was back and I had to work with poor commuting facilities.

Spent last week in hospital & that's put me out for the season.
I really should take up cycling!

6000 km revised goal achieved during a rather wet ride this morning. Revised goal set earlier in the year after 10 week off the bike. Hope to hit close to 6400 for the year weather permitting

Very newbie post, started with no goal but in my first 8 months back on a bike I managed to crack 1000km and 10,000m elevation.
Still experimenting with longer rides, made my first 36k this week — I now own chamois cream...

I'll just scrape-in 4000km for this year. The lowest I've done in 15 years but I don't mind.
Lot's of other competing interests and winter time doldrums. Still nice and fit and becoming athletically fit again. Feeling good.
I only rode consistently about 6-7 of the 12 months but have been back in the saddle 4-5 days a week from late Nov. through to now. Shortish 40km spirited rides and a few double that distance. Back to about 200 a week.
The break has done me good. Full of enthusiasm again and really enjoying it. :D

Take a break off the bike.
Sit on the couch and eat donuts for a month. :D

It’s a trick of changing things up so you have new challenges.

I know you don’t always have the ability to ride outside, so join some people on Zwift who ride at regular times. They will keep you honest on the days where it’s easier to do nothing. I do that, we have our own WhatsApp discussion to coordinate the times we ride.

Or you could just watch repeats of Sky News After Dark and learn how the correct propaganda lines for social media trolling.

That should get your motivation back. ;)

That's me done for 2024.
6401 Km ....... Best Month 810km October. Worst Month 34km January.
37,439 metres elevation
Both significantly below original goals but happy with that considering the amount of forced time off the bike.

Aiming for 7000km and 45,000 metres up in 2025

That’s a great effort - especially for the fact that you had an enforced ten weeks off the bike.

810 km in October is a lot of riding.
I’m just over 10K for the year and my “biggest” months were June, July, October and November - all over 900 but under a thousand km’s

No longer working, and I get vertigo so riding can be limited.

Managed 4,581KMs this year. A bit short of the 5,000 I was aiming for but not bad.

When I was working and commuting I did once get to 11,000KMs, but those days are now past.

Will be aiming for 5,000 again next year.

That's still huge from my perspective at the moment, if I match my biggest couple of months for a whole year I may hit 3,000.

Best of luck with the vertigo next year. I had myself scheduled for another couple of rides after Christmas but I ended up having an episode of stress-related illness instead.

Congratulations on achieving the >10k.

I have been trying to achieve that but my best year was 9,008 way back in 2015 and in the >8K through to 2020 when Covid struck.
Have been trying for 8K plus since but reality has struck home and have reduced my target for 2025 to 7K which hopefully is achievable.
I only ride for enjoyment and basic fitness so don't ride when it is wet or too hot.
Have been riding solo a lot recently as a 0500 start returning home for breakfast around 0700 when my lady is getting up works best for us as she suffers from anxiety.
Great riding at that time a day up here, except perhaps during our mild winters in the dark although the sunrises are super particularly along the coast.
Still look forward to getting out 3 or 4 times a week including a Club group ride on Saturdays.

Original goal 5000 km but 2 months overseas with no riding revised to 4200 km.
Last ride today for a total of 4192 km and 52397 m of elevation.
Given a couple of colds, back issues meant another 3 weeks off bike plus looking after grandson also limited riding so pretty happy with the result.
Will aim for 7500 km for 2025.

Must ride tomorrow and try to get ahead of the curve!

Well. I added 12klms to my total this morning. The year rounded out at 140Klms. :(

Well done to those that tried their best for their targets and made them. :)

Was away so much for work this year, my total is short of where I would like it to be.
Had to go for a make up 2.1 km to round it off to 6800 km this afternoon. I never knew I was close, as had not focused on a particular figure, or would have extended my morning ride by that amount. But rounding up just seemed right :)
2025 will be better with no work travel to interfere.

I’ve never added up my yearly distance but sat down today to crunch the numbers.

I managed 5230.40 km distance and 75,923m in elevation which is mostly the result of Saturday morning rides and the very occasional midweek ride. Not sure if this is a good number or not… I didn’t have a target in mind and only did serious training for a Gran Fondo way back in March.

Hopefully I’ll get at least the same distance and elevation in 2025 and if possible, crack the 6000’s… mind you, I’m not riding on New Year’s Day as it’s forecast to be around 40C with 70km/h wind gusts in the morning… I rode about 93km on new years just gone so not off to a great start… oh well!

It's a lot better than my number. :D
At one or two rides a week you've done really well.
Health authorities recommended activity levels of 150 minutes/week. My rough estimate has you cycling about 4 hours a week.
You've romped it in. :D
The current thinking is also that weekend warriors do very close to daily gladiators in terms of positive health outcomes after similar weekly totals.

My goal this year was to stay qualified in this club, which I did - just over 3,000km for the year.

Next year my goal is 5,200 km - 100 km per week. Will be starting behind the 8 ball with 2 weeks off after rib plate

Aah, being unwell sucks! I figure we just live as well as we can and try not to allow it to disrupt our lives. Easier said than done.
