Just in case anyone hasn't seen this, Yarra Valley Water have warned people to boil water prior to drinking due to a possible contamination issue after that storm that ripped across Melbourne last night.
I was out riding just before it hit, was brutal until it turned into a tailwind and then it was phenomenal. Got home, grabbed a Ginger Beer and a shower, and then the power went out for 16 hours...
Am just wondering what else 2020 is going to throw at us..

Yep in that boat too. Decided against riding today because just too much going on even though the weather is great, plus a bit dubious of the water thing. Turns out that was a great idea. Al the trails with fallen trees and the winds seemed to have gotten the air dirty and my eyes are itchy as hell.
I think I'm just going to sleep and wake me up when this is all over haha.

Apparently the issue is slightly bigger than Yarra Valley Water thought, now with 99 suburbs being affected.

The initial front that rolled through around 5:30 was an impressive beast! I went soft and drove to work because I had seen the ugly forecast. Approaching knock-off time I could see the glowering clouds developing, so took a little detour via Seaford beach on the way home to watch and feel the front roll through.
Then in complete contrast, today was a gorgeous early spring day, so I took the same little detour.... Barely a breath of wind, the Bay almost like glass, compared to 24 hours earlier with the big chop from the day-long honking north-wester cross cut by the vicious southerly buster - beautifully messy!

I had a thought, but it got run over as it crossed my mind.

Would have been quite a sight.
I was just finishing up my ride when it started coming in. Erratic wind, which is always fun on aero wheels, debris hitting me from all sides and then, coming back in from Croydon Hills I got a hefty tailwind and blitzed the last couple of kays home. Most fun I've had all year..
And then I got home, showered, had a Ginger Beer then whack...power went out for 16hrs.
Ginger Beer and Peanut Butter sandwiches for dinner..

I was at Elwood Beach near the end of my ride when it hit. Quite a storm. Glad I was heading inland to get home, was increasing speed with no pedalling.
