Do yourself a favor and watch this vid. It's long but there are many very good points in it.

Good video but unfortunate camera placement…. Are those devil horns or rabbit ears on Greg’s head?

Yep I did find that fascinating, there are so many ‘chapters’ in the Greg Lemond story, which roughly parallel the history of cycling 1981 - 2011

Fascinating to listen to his character assessments of various people, not just LA but also Hinault, Fignon, Pantani, Ulrich, and others.

And of course the unfortunate “revolution” in pro cycling which was the widespread adoption of EPO in the early 1990’s.
And the tragic death of a friend of his who was a pro cyclist and obviously had too big a dose of EPO.

He also refers to more current issues of sneaky stuff in the pro cycling world, such as unnatural/dangerous rider weight loss and motor doping technology etc.

'Slaying the Badger' is free to watch on an Amazon Prime subscription and was an excellent documentary about the 1986 Tour and what was pretty much a betrayal by Hinault.

He seems like a genuinely nice guy, Lemond. I did find it very American that he had to make a comeback after being accidentally shot by his brother in law.

Just watched this (Slaying the Badger) - was also good to see how different personalities (Hinault, LeMond and the DS) describe their actions - like changing their glasses but still with a distorted lens.

I liked this retrospective look at the racing action, like the UCI boss warning LeMond to be careful when he was in yellow for the fear of French fans or rivals taking action against him.

In racing today many stories behind the the story (we see) are hidden, some harmless but still interesting to understand motovations, decisions and tactics.
