Wheely bag on bicycle

Postby find_bruce » Mon Nov 11, 2024 1:24 pm

Looking for suggestions on how to take a wheely bag home by bike - I would previously strap it to my front rack, but that bike has passed on & new bike has no racks.

I don't want to buy a new bag no add a rack, just looking for ideas to carry the bag. I figure that towing it along behind me would be sub-optimal.

Best thought I've had is using straps to make a temporary harness, like I did with this frame

If worse comes to it I can always ride my wife's e-cargo bike

Go the e-cargo bike I reckon.

I like the photo of the bike frame on your back

If you can't come at n+1 for now, get a trailer. I suspect the wheely bag if occupied at all will be a bit heavy and difficult as a back pack. Especially as it has to be hoicked high enough to clear the back wheel.

I think you answered your own question with the cargo bike option.

Cargo bike is the easy but boring option. Will take some suitable straps tomorrow & see if I can make it comfortable - if not can take the boring approach on Wednesday
