Bicycles Network Australia in The Australian Newspaper

Postby AUbicycles » Tue Jul 09, 2013 11:12 am

E-Bike Buyers Guide app taps the mood of a boom

Bicycles Network Australia recently published an app for iPad called the "E-Bike Buyers Guide" which was authored by David Halfpenny and gathered five E-Bike experts in a round-table to discuss and answer topics around E-Bikes to help direct new buyers into the right direction.

The Australian newspaper has published coverage of the app and the e-bike trend in todays edition:

The complete article online is however currently paid-subscriber content (but I could read it via a google search for ebike guide) and in brief discusses the growth of e-bikes and the laws. You can check out the Ebike Buyers Guide App here

Maybe they just wanted to splash the photo of you everywhere.

Good article. And the bike in the photo is very nice looking.

I organised and supplied a photo on short notice, they seemed to like it.

The bike is a Danish Promovec with the battery nicely concealed in the downtube - so overall a more compact type of E-Bike as most have the battery on the panniers or mounted on the frame. There are pros and cons of the different mounts. Martin Turner of MR Ebikes (in Belrose, Sydney) imports these (along with BionX conversion kits). So just borrowed briefly.

+1

Christopher forced me to do a photo shoot with the Pro-viz jacket, and for the e-bike guide author picture. He sent me the touched up and texturised images he was going to use. I told him that his photography skills were excellent, but he was just polishing a turd with photoshop. I don't think I will be featured in any more photoshoots :D

Christopher can have the fame, I'll take the money. There is money, isn't there?

Everyone has been asking me how much The Australian paid me to feature in their newspaper but truth be told, I don't have the same rates as Bill Clinton or Elle McPherson or whichever presidents and models are popular today.

Don't worry David, I am checking the account now to see how much profit we have made on the free app..... doh.. free.

Yes, I am assuming a compatibility issue with the tablet.
