OzHpv Challenge in Corryong September 27 & 28

Postby stevenurseau » Sun Jun 22, 2014 11:06 pm

Hi

The OzHPV Challenge for 2014 is being organised in Corryong in Northeast Victoria, with provisional dates of the weekend of September 27 & 28.

The challenge is a series of races designed to test the practicality of human powered vehicles and has been held since the mid 90's. Its a great competition and almost anyone of any age can enter on almost any type of human powered vehicle. In the past we've had people on standard bikes, recumbent trikes and bikes, rollerblades and Unicycles. Its fun to watch and even more fun to be in it. Conventional cycle racing is much more restrictive and harder to enter!

We plan to use the Corryong airstrip for speed runs on one day and a closed road loop for other events the next day. We also plan some gentle cycle touring around Corryong in the days before the Challenge.

Anyway, let's hear from you if you want to come along and participate or watch, better still if you can help with organisation. Just reply to this Bulletin board or email me, steve (the at symbol) modularbikes.com.au or David Cox, secretary (the at symbol) ozhpv.org.au

(OzHpv is Australia's National Human Powered Vehicle Organisation. Our intention is to promote HPV's as a way to travel and as a way of reducing polluting motorised transport. Our website can be found at ozhpv.org.au )

See you there!

Regards

Very tempting, a lovely part of the world-spent many a long weeking fishing near there with my dad when I was a boy. Would love to come down for a visit-we'll see!

Would be good to see you there Burnt. I'll keep this Forum updated as we finalise events and get entry details sorted. Next step for me is a trip up to corryong to check out racing venues and see what events we can hold. Send me an email if you're interested in coming up.

Entering Challenge by Mail

Postby stevenurseau » Thu Sep 18, 2014 10:08 pm

Hi

On Tuesday we will be heading off to the Challenge, staying with friends in Benalla on the way up. We'll have access to webmail.

This means that any mail entries not posted pronto won't get to me by Monday's post or the start of the event. If you'd planned to enter by mail, please email any time, or fill in an entry form on the day instead.

Interested in finding out how many plan to attend, I've heard from a few people in Canberra but that's about it. Send an email ( cesnur(at)iimetro.com.au or ring 0459341814.

Thanks, Regards
