Campagnolo zonda vs Mavic Aksiums. HELP

Hi there,
Can someone tell me how these Campagnolo Zonda Clincher's would compare to my current Mavic Aksiums (in terms of performance,weight,strength/durability,etc)
Would i be right in saying if i select the shimano free hug that these wheels will fit my Ultegra 6700 10 speed setup?

I had a set of Aksiums, weighed a ton, was over 2kgs, they are strong, but thats about it. Horrible to service, hubs didn't like lubrication at all.
Never had Zonda's but everybody says Fulcrum 3's are the same, if so I've got a set of those. Weight difference you will definitely notice, durability had no issues and getting close to 20,000 k's, I find them easy to service.

Think your biggest problem will be the Shimano freehub is out of stock, these are probably 11 speed so you need an extra spacer behind your 10 speed cassette and the last set of wheels I bought from Wiggle they didn't include it, they ended up sending it but had to wait another week to get it. Not a problem because your Mavic wheels will have it anyway, they have always needed it.

I've just been working a set of Zonda's into a mate's bike, checked them out thoroughly.

Very impressed with them out of the box, smooth, adjusted, look quite similar to the old Eurus with steel high tension spokes and G3 rear pattern. Weight as advertised sans skewers, 1560g the pair. All other things being equal I'd take them in preference to Aksiums every time.

That all looks pretty promising. Yeah i noticed it was out of stock, might send them an email and see when they think it will be in stock.
Aslong as they will fit ok (with a spacer for my 10 speed) then im pretty happy.
Is that a good price for them?

They must have been made by the work experience kid to be over 2kgs, both of my sets are well under and the current model is down to 1735g. I've done a heap of riding on both sets and i've only had one spoke break when i lent a set to my 6'2, 95kg brother. From what i've seen of how-tos the hub stripping does look like an involved process but then it's never needed doing on either of mine.

I weigh 86 kg and train on some very bad roads. I have done thousands of kms on a set of Aksiums and they have been great. A minor true of the rear wheel required very occasionally.

They were a few years old, circa 2010 they were well known to be around the 2kg mark. I know the weight has been reduced in recent years though.

I bought a pair of zondas to replace the stock wheels that came on my madone, they were ridiculously heavy and spun pretty poorly.
The zondas are great, I'd read they come from the same manufacturers as fulcrum, the set falls around 1500g and are 10-11 speed compatible and come with the shim required for 10-speed cassette on the 11-speed freehub. Campy make a very good quality set of skewers too and I totally recommend them, sure I have a shimano gruppo and campy wheels but if that bothered you, the fulcrum 3 fall under the same weight category.

Errr, no. Fulcrums are made by Campagnolo, not the other way round. So Shimano owners can enjoy quality wheels without embarrassment.

Just to confuse things, when I looked to move from Mavic Aksiums I was sold on the Zonda's, I still love them, but then I found the Pro-Lite Bracciano A27...I bought the pro-lites as they were cheaper, lighter and had some added stiffness to the rear wheel, I'm 90KG plus and felt this would be a benefit. 2000ks later I cannot fault the Pro-lites and would buy them again. They have campy and shimano 10 & 11 speed compatability Locally supported and warrantied too.

Zondas are fantastic - I've had a set on since the start of this year and had no problems in the 4.5k I've done so far, including a bit of dirt tracking and a few potholes/craters. Definitely recommend them and I'd happily buy another set in the future.

No experience with the Mavics but had my Zondas for a few weeks now... no issues at all.
Rolls smooth, true out of the box and very quiet.

Big improvement over my last set of DPX wheels.

Ive had a set of zondas for about 3 years for racing, training and commuting. Never gone out of true and never had any probs. Great value and an awesome cheapish wheel.

Received my Zonda from Wiggle in April 2014. Love the wheelset. Ride very smooth.
I changed the steel bearings to ceramic bearings after about 200km. Feel the wheels are rolling even smoother - probably placebo effect - but my average did go up on the same route.

I went for loose bearings. Popped the steel one out and replaced with these ceramic bearings.

I just put a crack in the back one. I did get a lot of kilometres out of them. I's unsure how I feel about it though...I just don't like stuff breaking.

I have upgraded from Aksium to Zonda was very happy with Aksiums. Even happier with Zondas first thing I found was they spin longer can spin out in gear easier they coast longer . Definitely stiffer I can take turns faster with more confidence I cant detect any flex like my aksiums had. Lighter as well
