Haven't read the articles sorry, but I'm going to guess that e-bikes are attractive to those who haven't previously done much riding on the road and/or longer distances, so they'll have less experience and like anything, will sometimes learn the hard way.
When you are driving your car, you are not stuck IN traffic - you ARE the traffic!!!

The general gist of the articles is that in places like China where they typically do nothing to address safety, there's lots of bad things happen to riders in an accidents.Mububban wrote:Haven't read the articles sorry, but I'm going to guess that e-bikes are attractive to those who haven't previously done much riding on the road and/or longer distances, so they'll have less experience and like anything, will sometimes learn the hard way.
In Switzerland, they have very few accidents requiring medical attention and massive amounts of people cycling on e-bikes. Many accidents are from getting the front wheel caught in tramlines and most accidents are centered around 45yo males. Head and chest injuries of varying severity. Alcohol appears to be a significant contributing factor also.
Other vehicles are involved most of the time also...
