vintage bikes

Postby hamishcycle » Fri Jul 31, 2015 8:53 pm

As soon as I saw this bike I knew it was a part of Austrailan cycling history. any help find who rode it would be greatly appreciated ....It was built by Brian Templeton (35 main st Box Hill vic.) Brians son, Ken, was a training partner with Sir Oppy. Leavers, seat & forks are not original but it has:cc21 pre war expander bolt headstem, Cyclo derailor, Benenlux suicide shifter, Bowden brakes (quick release), ccr14 stronglight cranks.....all cc nunbers are part no. for Hillary Stone.comThanks I have photos but do not know how to post them.

Alerted mods to this effect. Hold tight, topic should be shifted shortly. Please mind the gap.

If you read the sticky "for those new to retro bikes" that explains it, photobucket is one answer.
Ozpushies! for ALL Australian made bikes.

Sorry for the vintage thread revival!! I'm wondering if this user is still online and still has this bike? I'm keen to find out because Ken Templeton was my great grandfather, and his son (Uncle) Brian was my grannie's brother. I remember visiting the shop in Box Hill many times as a kid. Wondering if the bike, or the photo, or any photos of a Templeton bike are around? Would love to surprise my historian dad with this info. Thanks in advance.

Thanks so much for the warm welcome :) Hopefully they may get an email alert, or someone else reading may have some info on Templeton bikes.
