went for a 60k ride at 10:30 this morning out to manly and back. caked on a layer of sunscreen, then some zinc on face and upper arms.
took two frozen waterbottles (were 100% melted by the 20k mark.)

but wow...it was real tough today. strong headwind on the way out there. (brisbane has been so windy lately) my average at manly was only 26.8. but got a fair chunk of the tailwind on way home via lytton rd. got my average up to 29.7 by the time i got back to town...the last 6 ks i took very easy. but i think the heat really sucked my skillz away.

and recovery has been so slow. my face still feels hot - like i've got a fever.
ah queensland. gotta start my rides at dawn from now on i think.

Set off at 5:15 down to Sandgate and back 85km so I missed the heat.

Have been sick so if anyone skidded on something going round the Redcliffe Peninsula chances are it was my snot.

Also was coughing up gherkins, not very pleasant.

It was hot today. Set out at 6am, heading up the range, Beerwah, Landsborough home. By 10.30 my jersey was soaking wet. Took me a few hours to cool down. Very warm QLD weather.

Maybe it's just the first warm weekend of the Spring... we'll get used to it.

Must admit I prefer heat to the cold.

75km of grinding hills in the BFP yesterday. No wind in there man. Might be time for a mountain bike WR. That'll prep you for the mountain stages.
