Hiya,
I now have a new route to work and am looking to fine tune it.
I've created the partial route I'd like to improve below.
I basically want to cut across Norman Park through East Brisbane, take a look at the map and you'll what I mean...

Any suggestions?
Cheers

Just need to get from Crown St on the right, to Shafston Ave on the left as direct as possible. Instead of heading south as shown in the map.

Is there a way cut through the ovals and river? Or is the route I have plotted as direct as it gets, I am being lazy, but I just want a direct path away from those busy Gabba streets.

What about heading to Wynnum Road, crossing the creek under the bridge, then Laidlaw St through Mowbray Park, Thorn St, Lambert St etc ?

I would follow Norman Av to Wynnum Road and use the Wynnem Road bikeway.

What time are you going that way?

I turn left in to Stanley Street from Cavendish Rd just after 5am. You can turn right and wind over to Wellington Rd any time, or just ride along Stanley and turn right in to Wellington Rd. You can cross Shafston ang go along Thorn St etc making the first bike path the one you cross the bridge on.

The Wynnum Rd bike path is otherwise known as the footpath and is not flash on a bike. I am unaware how bad the main roads get later on though, so as always it's best to take the way where you feel it's safest. I've never ridden that way later than 5.30am.

Yes your new Line 3 is getting closer to the route I would take take.
I'm not sure what Bodalla St is like - does it chop off part of the hill at the top of Norman Ave?
The actual crossing Wynnum Road is under the bridge.
Also, I stay on Thorn St longer and use Casstlebar St to get to Lambert St, because I like to keep as far away from traffic fumes as I can (when I can!).
