As we roll through Spring it can only mean one thing, Newcastle Overnight is just around the corner. This year it is scheduled for Saturday 11 November, (so you can maintain the rage and ride at the same time), starting at 21:00 in Observatory Hill, The Rocks.
Registration is OPEN. Register online via https://www.audax.org.au/portal/index.p ... ent&id=631. There is an ambitious perhaps limit of 500. The usual $6 for Audax & CA members (CA members bring your card) and $16 for non-members (covers temporary membership and insurance for the ride) but also carry a few notes for the contribution jars at the support locations.
Information updates as usual at http://www.newcastleovernight.com/
Hope to see you there, look for me towards the back. There are reported to be some oBike & Reddy Bike teams, perhaps ofo can also get its act together too.

Looks like it is going to be a great night, if you have discovered a gap in your diary for tonight the organisers will tale late registrations at the start but be early, by 7 pm at York Lane or 8 at Observatory Hill for the 9 pm start.

Well as usual it was a great night. Perhaps a few less riders than last year, a few more patches with no-one in sight but still often company. Got hot going up hill and cold going down so it must have been on average just right. Great crescent moon came up 2am or so, sun rise great just before Newcastle, bird dawn chorus loud and varied. 10 minutes slower than last year must be getting older, at least I wasn't passed by the ReddyGo bikes, played leap frog with a big mixed group on touring bikes with a sound system and party lights, they seemed to stop at every all night servo, roar past me only to stop at the next one, I plodded along, try for a PB again next time. Great ride.

I will try and make it next year. My mate did it this year and last year and he loved it.
