Specialized are one brand who are fairly active in product development and introducing the medical science aspect into their body geometry fit concept.
While there are some fairly reliable approaches for measure saddle pressure for men, for women it has proven more difficult. In the following Forbes article, author Carlon Reid covers the current status in saddle design and fit specifically for women. Very straight forward and worthwhile reading and considering for women who cycle.
As a note, Specialized are just one brand of a few and there is no ‘single product’ or ‘single saddle’ suits all... so take the info and see how it applies and if there is room to improve short term and long term saddle comfort.
