Aligning disk wheel and chain

Hello, I'm setting up a disk wheel on my track bike which has posed the following dilemma:
By playing with the spacers, if the wheel is centred to the frame, the chain is a little out of alignment, and if the chain is aligned perfectly the wheel is slightly off centre?
So what's more important?

I suppose the question is how much is it off centre and in which direction? It is possible to move the cog relative to the wheel a little with a spacer. Making the cog sit closer to the wheel would be a bit more work.

Alternatively, does the chainring need to be moved to fix the chainline from the other end?
Cheers,

a little out of alignment
If a little is only 2 or 3mm, then centre the wheel. The chainline can handle that variance.

What is the bike, Road or Track?
Idiot, I just looked at the thread.
Okay, have you taken the bike for a ride on the Track? What does the chain line sound like, under power and rolling?

Thanks for the help guys, the chain isn't out by very much so I'll get the wheel centred and think about moving the sprocket out if it needs it after a ride.
