I'm reading that and thinking what kind of slum city in which third world country could this happen. Ouch London!g-boaf wrote: ↑Sat Oct 09, 2021 12:26 pmhttps://www.bbc.com/news/uk-england-london-58835188

I think the mental trauma of going through something like that may end up being worse in the long run than the loss of the bike. It may stop some from riding, or end up causing long term anxiety problems. Fortunately he doesn't need an expensive bike for training. So he could get a cheap replacement bike that is still tolerable, with matching dimensions. That would hopefully prevent a reoccurrence.
All my mechanical equipment, car, motorcycle, bikes, lawn mower etc are all fairly cheap, to limit their desirability to thieves. I understand that some people can't live like that, but it seems to mostly work for me. I've had a couple of theft attempts on my cheap cars over the last couple of decades. But haven't lost anything yet.

That is so very very messed up. Lucky he didn't come off worse after being knocked off at 60kmh then dragged along the road!

Apparently this was the second of three similar incidents in that park within a couple of weeks:

"...with tactical contact being made."
I assume that translates to "ran them off the road."
