So it will be just as awful, but with multi-storey residences along each side?

yeah but a few trees and a footpath marked "shared path" with no intersection management.

The path along the railway line runs pretty much parallel and is flatter and less intersections.

Guess they should proceed then with no cycling provisions then?

At least they are planning it.

Heck, we have Old Windsor Rd shared path with heaps of traffic lights and everyone uses that (because no other alternative).

Badly needed is a Parramatta Rd cycleway.
